fostering
Fostering is a way of providing a family life for children who cannot live with their own parents.
With fostering often the child will return home once the problems that caused them to come into foster care have been solved, and it is clear that the parents, or extended family members are able to look after them safely.
People choose to become foster carers because they care about children and young people and want to make a difference to their lives.
Fostering can be a full or part time career.
Adopting a child is a lifetime commitment. When you adopt, you become the child’s legal parent.
A child will become part of your family just as if they were born to you.
People choose to adopt for a variety of reasons, including a desire to share some of the good things they have with a child who is less fortunate.
For some people adoption is their only option when they are unable to have children themselves.
Others choose to adopt to make their family feel complete.
